Bring It Back

We offer a container-return program to give selected empty packaging another life. Customers can bring qualifying containers to participating stores, where they are collected for processing and reuse as raw material for new packaging. As a thank-you, eligible returns may earn a discount on a purchase or, when enough approved containers are collected, a complimentary facial service. The program is part of our broader effort to reduce packaging waste, from considering lower-packaging product designs to recovering materials after use.
Plastic packaging is convenient and widely used, but much of it is never recycled. Items that are not properly collected or sorted may end up in landfills or escape into the natural environment, where they can harm waterways and wildlife. Reusing existing materials can reduce the need for newly produced plastic and help keep useful resources in circulation. Our return program is one practical way for customers to contribute to that effort.
Accepted items must be made from eligible plastic and meet the program’s condition and size requirements. Certain polypropylene containers, including clear or dark-colored tubs and their matching lids, may qualify if they meet the minimum weight requirement of approximately 45 grams. Some empty cosmetic packages are also accepted, such as mascara tubes, pressed-powder compacts, dark plastic ointment jars, and twist-up lipstick cases. Materials outside the program’s specifications, including metal containers and non-plastic packaging, cannot be accepted because they require different recycling processes.
Please make sure all containers are empty and clean before bringing them to a store. Wash jars with warm water and soap, and rinse smaller containers or applicators to remove as much product residue as possible. Clean packaging is easier to sort and process, and preparing it properly helps prevent contamination of recyclable materials. If you are uncertain whether a particular item qualifies, ask a store team member before bringing it in.
Eligible containers can be returned in person at participating retail locations. Each approved item may be redeemed separately for a small discount on a qualifying purchase. Customers who bring in a larger group of accepted containers, generally five, may qualify for a complimentary facial service instead. Rewards and availability may vary by location, so please confirm the current program details with store staff before making a special trip. Returned containers must meet the program requirements to receive a reward.
After collection, the packaging is sent to processing facilities. There, it can be sorted, cleaned, reduced into smaller pieces, and prepared for manufacturing. The recovered material may then be used to produce new containers, helping move packaging back into a production cycle instead of treating it as disposable waste. The exact processing steps and the products made from the recovered material may depend on the type and condition of the items received.
The program works best when customers and retailers take part together. By returning eligible packaging and following the preparation instructions, customers help improve the quality of collected material and support more effective recovery. These actions cannot eliminate packaging waste on their own, but they can strengthen reuse systems and encourage more thoughtful consumption.
